While a cheap bottle of champagne and a few party hats won't set you back more than a few bucks, there are plenty of places that charge thousands of dollars for a ticket to an out-of-this-world affair. From restaurants to concerts, we've rounded up some of the most extravagant places to kick off 2012.

The Queen Elizabeth II will host its first New Year's Eve bash this year. It's also the first time a large group of visitors will be allowed on board since 2008, when the ship docked in Dubai.

Emirati, an event planning company, is hosting the black-tie party that will feature live music, fireworks, and a laser light show. Most of the guests will be invited, but a limited number of tickets will go on sale to the general public, for a yet-to-be disclosed amount.
